My daughter, Amy, posted this on facebook yesterday, and I found it so

appropriate for what our family is going through right now. I have three

close family members, my mother, brother and brother-in-law, who are

in stage 4 cancer. Quite overwhelming if you look at the circumstances.

But God is still God. And he is still in control. No matter what circumstances

we see, he sees the big picture!

Bryanna Nicole. She is a year old now. Can't imagine life without her. She is such

a sparkly little personality. She makes me feel like a queen when I walk in the door.

Her little face lights up and she has a huge smile. What a little doll.

She was not happy to be wearing the tutu Grammy made for her.

She escaped from the pose as fast as her little feet would carry her.

I'm participating in the color challenge over at DSO this month and made a freebie mini-kit. I know it is almost summer but these colors just said spring to me so this little kit is called A Special Spring. These are photos of Jake's family. Aren't the kids precious. They are very lively but they are just as sweet as can be!

Jett let the girls kiss on him longer than I thought he would tolerate. Then he had had enough. The family photo was taken after a day at the beach. We were in Port St. Joe, FL, where Jake was going to preach Easter Sunday morning. We stayed at a beach house with them. We had a great time.

And here is Missy Becca, such a beautiful young lady, takes after her mother, Amy, below. They were having an Easter picnic at the park then an egg hunt.

Then we have our lovely Priscilla's family. We had an egg hunt with the girls the Sunday before Easter since we were going to be gone. Little sweeties all decked out in their Easter attire.

This is a LO I did for Template Challenge 6 at the Shabby Shoppe blog. This is my grandson, Jett. He is two years old and he is a delight, and ALL BOY!!! He is intrigued with this caterpillar, but his mom said that didn't last too long. The journaling reads, "He loved it but then started saying KILL KILL, then proceeded to step on it."
I used the kit Hop Scotch from the Shabby Shoppe. I thought it was a perfect fit with the photos.

It's been a long time...

since I blogged. Life has gotten busier and I have not been able to participate in challenges etc. for a while. I've had a few minutes this morning and have been playing around with text on a path. Thought I would share what I came up with. For some reason I can't get on 4-shared. I can't get on the site at all. So I am just going to upload the files here. I think if you click on each one, then right click on the one that comes up, it should save it at full size in png format. If this doesn't work then I'll be back to figure something else out.

Here's the first one. I have eight precious grandchildren and I love these text shapes to place on or around photos.

Well almost. Hope you all are enjoying your month of June. I sure am. I LOVE summer! I love playing in the pool with the grandkids and sitting outside playing Bananagrams with my daughter, Amy. I love hearing the customary afternoon Florida thunderstorms. I love the bright sunny mornings!

I also love the color scheme that KimB has chosen for the DSO color challenge this month. And the posting bonus is gorgeous as usual. I am participating in the template challenge at the Shabby Shoppe and created the following LO for the challenge. This is three of my grandbabies having fun in the pool. Our son, Jake, and his family came for a surprise visit and we had a ball with the babies. The smallest in the photos is his oldest daughter, Halee. The other two both belong to our second daughter, Priscilla. They are Mikahla, with the dark hair, and Olivia.

To be perfectly honest, I don't use templates often because most of my pages I create in Fotofusion. But this was such a nice template and I love the products at the Shabby Shoppe so I used PaintShopPhotoPro X3 to create this LO, and I used Smarshmallows kit by Shabby Princess.

I think I forgot to share this frame/border. You can either click on the image and right-click and download as png, or you can click on the download link and get it from 4-shared. Remember that if you download a png from 4-shared it shows up all black, but it is actually there in your file folder on your computer when it finishes downloading. So if you click on the download link and you just see a black rectangle, the frame is actually there in that rectangle you just can't see it. Ok, enough of that. Here's my newest freebie. It was made for the October color challenge at DSO. Hope you enjoy. It will coordinate with all of the wonderful freebies that others, including KimB, give away during the challenge each month. You should really give it a try. All you need to do is create a layout using at least four of the colors from this month's color swatch. And....... you can use any of the free kits or free items that are available for download to create your layout. How easy is that!

April Color Challenge at DSO

These are previews of the two cluster frame thingies that I created for the color challenge at DSO. You should go check it out in the forum. There are usually lots of goodies to collect, and by the end of the month you will have a good size mega-kit! And Kim always has a wonderful participation bonus.
Like I said last month, I love using these clusters because it doesn't matter what size pages you scrap, they will fit. You should be able to find plenty of coordinating papers to use with them at the challenge.

A Matching Pair

If you come here often you know that I like to make matching pairs. I don't want you to have stuff for one page but not the two page layout. Hence, the second quick cluster. Again, I made this as opposed to a quickpage so that it could be used on any size page. I personally scrap landscape 13" x 11" because that's the size photobooks I order for my family. I know it's really hard when you see a wonderful quickpage and it is 12" x 12". Some you can adapt to your page size and some don't look so good when cropped etc. I think that may be why these little things are becoming more popular, and that's a good thing. It still makes scrapping quick when you need it to be, but you can fit it to any page. If you hop on over to DSO and participate in the color challenge, you can pick up lots of papers and other items that will coordinate with these clusters. Back from the cold

We've been up north visiting with the kids and grandbabies. What fun times! We enjoyed the trip immensely but it is always great to come home, for a little while anyway. We also were able to see my sister and her hubby. That's always nice too.

I am not tired of Christmas or Christmas colors. I've read several blogs and artist sites that say they aren't creating Christmas kits because they are already tired of it. So sorry for them. I love it and I am loving all of the Christmas movies on tv and everything else to do with it. I love all of the celebrations and decorations and, most of all, remembering why we celebrate. What a wonderful way to remember and celebrate the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ.
So I have my Sweet Christmas kit uploaded and ready to share. I used these colors and the name because I was thinking of Christmas candy. Hope you can use it.

My Christmas Card

This is my Christmas card that I'll be sending out this year. I don't think there's any better art I could use than the precious faces of my grandbabies. They are, top left to right, Becca, 7 years old, belonging to our oldest daughter, Amy. The next three on the top row belong to our second daughter, Priscilla. They are, from left to right, Mikahla - 6, Olivia - 4 and Julia - 2.
The ones on the second row belong to our son, Jake. They are, also left to right, Halee - 3, Karis - 22 months and Jett - 4 months. Aren't they all the sweetest little faces?!!!

To those of you in the U.S. anyway. I have a gift for you. Not for Thanksgiving, but just to give you a gift.
I made a couple of quickpages to share with you. The little cuties in them are two of my grandbabies, Halee and Karis, they are three and two. Aren't they adorable!
I hope you can use the quickpages. BTW, I am making 13" x 11" landscape photobooks for my kids' families this year, and I think these should adapt to that size very well. So those of you who use rectangular instead of square, I think you should be able to use these.

Good Morning to All!

Hope you are having a blessed Wednesday morning. We've been having gorgeous weather, of course, I haven't been able to get out in it. But it's nice to look out and see such a wonderful day that the Lord has given us! The grandbabies have been loving it - the three that live with us anyway. We have four that live up north in the cold. Some of them love it though. But we sure do miss them. Haven't been able to take a trip to see them since the first part of August due to this stuff going on with me. Hope it will clear up soon... I don't want to spend Thanksgiving and Christmas in this condition!

Well I went back to the Dr. this morning and he has me back on clear liquids and antibiotics - yuck! But I do feel a little better so that is a little blessing. I cannot believe how summer has gone! So much has happened in life in the past two weeks and I won't even bore you with it. I have been having some physical problems but they seem to be improving.

I cannot believe how long it has been since I blogged. I probably don't have any blog friends left out there in cyberland. First I was sick, then, for some wierd reason Blogger decided that my site was a spam site and they locked me. By the time they unlocked it I was on my way to Maryland to meet my new grandson.

I had a kit almost ready to share and was just thrown for a loop by being called a spammer. Anyway, I'm home, and I'm over it, so I'm back. I've had alot to catch up on, PLUS, I have been introduced to the world of online social networking.

I know everyone has heard of Facebook and MySpace. Well, I had heard about them but never had an interest in either because I thought they were for teens. A friend showed me a new social networking site that actually pays you to join and have your friends join. I thought - ok- I was pretty skeptical. But ----- he was right. My shoulder is feeling much better

I started taking InfiAid within a half hour of hurting it and I am amazed at how quickly it has healed. I've started back in the pool doing my exercises and today it didn't hurt at all. I need the exercise and I am so happy that I was able to keep right on with it even if I did have to lighten up for a few days. WooHoo for InfiAid. It took one week for it to heal. I am so impressed!

I love the colors KimB chose for her color challenge for July. I made a mini-kit to participate. This is a huge step away from my normal. It's called Funky and that's what it is.... funky. All of the elements are chipped metal so if you don't like that look you won't want to download it. The papers are pretty normal, not much texture and no grunge. So the grunge is in the elements. Here's a preview and the download link is below that.

the alpha, I hope you read this. I changed the alpha because I didn't like it with the kit. As you can see from the new preview, it goes with the papers very well now. The link in the post below is the good one.
Tomorrow I'll be posting the numbers and symbols.
Sorry for this but I hope you'll like these better too. They are the same except the colors are more brilliant like the papers and elements in the kit.

We're having a beautiful day today even though I injured my shoulder yesterday. We went to the early service yesterday morning... who woulda thought I could get hurt in church! LOL. Anyway, Olivia, our 4yo granddaughter wanted me to pick her up when we were standing singing. I always pick her up so no problem. But apparently my muscles weren't awake yet because something in my left shoulder blade pulled and I knew it was bad. It hurt so bad I could barely move. Dh took me home right away and we put ice on it. He gave me a capsule called InfiAid - it's all natural and for this type injury, among other things. I had never taken it before cause I'm allergic to mushrooms and it has Shitake mushroom in it. But I was desperate and I figured if I had to go to the ER that would be ok too. Well, by last night, after three of those little miracles, I was feeling so much better. Even felt like having my birthday party. It would have disappointed the babies so much if Gramma hadn't felt like partying. I slept well last night and just having a little pain and soreness today. Getting ready to go in the pool for some therapy.

Thanks so much to Nelda for sending a LO she created with a paper from my papers that I made for the June color challenge at the Scrapping Garden. Here it is...

Nelda says, "I used the templates from http://simplysarahdesigns.blogspot.com/ You will notice in her examples that she had a black brocade-looking background in them. I was trying to duplicate that look, I think it is very elegant for a wedding."
She also recolored the paper. Great job Nelda. I love it.

I am really thankful for the rain because we needed it, but we haven't been in the pool since Tuesday and I'm in withdrawal, so are the grandbabies. There's a little bit of hope today.

Today is also dh and mine 38th anniversary. Wow!!! That is ridiculous. Could I possibly be that old?!!!

So... on to the freebie...

I made a LO for the color challenge over at ScrapbookBytes and decided to use the page as a quickpage for a freebie. I also included all of the elements in the zip in case you want to use them. I don't normally like to give just one quickpage, but this will have to be the exception.

This is my son in law, Jason. He's in the Army National Guard and this is his middle daughter, Olivia, getting reacquainted with him after a couple months apart. It was a very sweet moment.

I made a little wordard chipboard thingy using "CarrickGroovy" font. The chipboard action thanks to Atomic Cupcake. It coordinates with the Perfect in Pink kit. I've decided that I like the chipped paint look better than this but I think this will go good with some of the grungy papers in the kit.

Hope you all had a wonderful weekend with your fathers, husbands, etc. This was my first Father's Day without my dad. Thought of him alot yesterday.

I have a freebie for you. It's a full kit called Perfect In Pink, but I have no preview. Just didn't have time to make one. I will show you a couple of elements that are in it to give you an idea. If you don't like pink you won't like this kit. I don't know why the bow looks like it has a shadow here, but it doesn't.

I've been busy putting a July 4th presentation together for church. We're honoring the servicemen of our church and the nation. I've also been trying to get some swimming in. It's terrific exercise! I'm so tired when I get out after a couple hours of swimming but that exercise and fresh air is addictive. Of course, here in Florida we have a habit of afternoon thunderstorms so we've been trying to get in before lunch to make sure we get a couple hours in.

I did take the time to participate in the color challenge over at the Scrapping Garden. I created the following papers. They're actually prettier than they look in the preview. If you want them you can grab them at the link below the preview.

I'm back in town. We went to my son-in-laws graduation from basic at Ft. Jackson, SC, then on up to see our son and his sweet family while our daughter and her girls took hubby on up to Ft. Lee in VA. We spent two days with son in MD then back to connect with daughter and girls and home to Florida. Did you get that?
We had a great trip, a little tiring but overall a great trip. While we were in MD I was able to attend a baby shower for dil who is about to give birth to our first grandson. That was very nice that it worked out that way.

I like to participate in KimB's color challenge at DSO because I love her colors and her posting gifts. This month her colors immediately made me think of a New England beach. So here are two quickpages along those lines. I may create a mini-kit to go along with these but for now I'll just give you these. So here is the preview and below is the link.
I also wanted to say how much I appreciate those who have been leaving such encouraging comments. It keeps me wanting to create when I get tired. Thank you.

we had yesterday morning at church. So uplifting and challenging. Hope you have a good church where you can worship.
I've been working on a new kit that I love. It is called "Flowery" and if all works out well I'll be giving it away here. I appreciate those of you who have posted comments, I was beginning to wonder if anyone wanted the "Memorial Day" kit. Sharon and Susan B, I really appreciate your comments. I create these freebies because I enjoy doing it and I use them myself for my own photo books. I was tempted to only give this kit to those who responded to my question of whether anyone wanted it. I do appreciate the comments on 4-shared but sometimes I think people are just going straight there and not coming here first. Anyway, I decided to try once more. So here it is. This is the entire Memorial Day kit. The only thing left to give for this kit is the alpha and I should get that up sometime within the next week.

I'll be leaving on the 28th to go north again. My son-in-law is graduating from basics and we are going with daughter and her girls to attend. Then dh and I will go on up to MD to attend a baby shower for our daughter-in-law and our first grandson while daughter drive her hubby to AIT. They are only 3 hours from Ft. Lee. Then we'll come back to Ft. Lee and drive with daughter and girls back home.
So how's the pollen up there? I hope it has calmed down some.

Well, I'm rambling and probably nobody there to read all this anyway.

This stuff has been awful. The pollen up north was unbelievable. Three of us came home sick. I am finally feeling like living again. I still have some congestion but it seems to be clearing up daily. We've been able to get in the pool the past three days and I think the sunshine and fresh air are helping me feel better... God bless the vitamin D.

Nobody responded saying they would like the completed "Muted" kit so I'll be done with that one. I am uploading two quickpages from my Memorial Day kit. If you want the whole completed kit you will have to let me know by posting a comment. Otherwise I'll just give two more quickpages after these and be done with that. This is not USA specific so that others can use it.

why is it called "Muted"? Well, I'm glad you asked. When we were at Busch Gardens recently I took somes photos of beautiful flowers. I used those photos in muted fashion to create the papers for this muted kit. So, even though the quickpages aren't muted, the flowers that inspired the kit were muted to create these papers.

to be away for so long. I'm sick again. Went north to see the kids and grandbabies and the pollen was so bad I got sick with it right away and was miserable the whole trip, physically anyway. I hope to never go north again in April or May. I just got over this stuff down here in Florida now I had to go thru it from Georgia and Maryland also. So if there is anyone out there that stops by to see if there are any freebies, there will be soon. I had some almost ready to share when I left, took the computer with me, but then didn't feel like doing anything on the trip.
I did enjoy the time with family. Sick or not, it's always good to see the family. And I took lots of photos and got lots of inspiration!
So by Monday there should be a new freebie up.

We've been celebrating birthdays around here and still have a couple more to go before March is over.
We've also been doing some sprucing up around the house. If you watch HGTV very much you get the bug to do something else to your home. Hubby and I watch it often and decide we'd like to do this or that and it keeps us quite busy LOL.

Good Morning...

...at least I suppose since it is three minutes after midnight here it is considered morning. Not much exciting going on in my life right now. But that's ok, I love my life every day. I am so blessed. Some of my sweet grandbabies have been sick but are better now.
We still don't know if our new little blessing, expected in August, will be a boy or another little girl. We'll be totally blessed with either!!!
Even though I live in Florida where we have had a very warm winter, I am drawn to springy type colors right now. So... I have a new quickpage created with a kit I made that I'm calling "Feeling Springy". I'll be adding to this album one page at a time till it is about six pages total. I don't like to get just one quickpage with none to coordinate with it and I won't give just one if I can help it. So, hopefully I will be able to post a total of six. Below is a layout using today's qp. The wordart is a freebie from dranet and is not included on the page. If you like it you can find the download link below the sample page.
